Tarzaning Between Here, There & Wherever

Last Saturday started what is going to be the beginning of crazy weekends until the middle of June. Unexpectedly (sort of), last Monday my brother-in-law's dad, Doug Hartley, passed away. I say "unexpectedly" because he had recently renewed his golf membership, but "sort of" because he has been unwell for 4 (or so) years. So we packed up & drove down to Raytown for his funeral on Saturday. It was really nice...as funerals go. Next weekend Monty's niece, Jenna, goes through the Temple for the first time to take out her Endowments. That will be exciting. We haven't been to the Temple since I was pregnant with Haiden in December of 2000....at least I haven't...Monty has done some baptisms with the youth. Then the next day is my niece's, Joanna, High School Graduation. The ceremony is in the morning & then the Grand March is in the evening. We plan to come home that evening. The weekend after that is Jenna's Bridal Luncheon/Shower thing. I haven't completely committed to that. We'll see though! So far, the following weekend is the only one that we will be home. Haiden has a Stake Cub Activity though. Then......The weekend after that is Jenna & Blake's Wedding. We are really excited! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* NOW...after all that....There was no mention of the potential "house hunting" we might be doing. Monty is taking the rest of the week off work to do some of that. We did find a place last Friday that we reeeeeeally like. If we don't find anything different &/or better by Thursday & after we have re-seen that place, we may very well end up putting an offer in on it. It has only been up for 2 1/2 weeks, but our house was only up for 13 days. We have the house inspection tomorrow, so hopefully they won't find that it's on the brink of falling into a pit. I would hate to know that we've been living in a "death-trap" for all this long. Phew...after re-reading all this....I'M TIRED!!!!!

Dinner + Dessert = Dinnsert

Last night, at 8 o'clock, Monty asked what I wanted for dinner.....Half way jokingly I said "Leftover donuts & strawberry ice cream". "Okay", he responded...so that's what the boys had for dinner. They thought we were kidding when I called them to come for "Dinnsert". Monty & I had toasted bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches though. EVERYONE WAS HAPPY!!!!

Torn...& Conflicted

So....13 days on the market & barring any problems; our sweet little home (ironically of 13 years) is "Conditionally SOLD". Maybe 13 is my lucky number. I guess (or hope) that means that the hardest part is over. I'm relieved, but it's sad 'cuz this it he home that we came to as newly weds & the place that we have brought all of our babies. My mind knows that we need to move & that we need the space, but my heart is so torn & conflicted. We love our ward & we love the school that the boys are in. As much as some people have STRONGLY suggested that we should move out of the NE, I wouldn't mind staying here. We have until July 30 to find a place or we'll be tentin' it. Pray for us.

Plea & Prayer of the Humble Home Seller

"Flee....Flee", I say foul laundry & unavoidable clutter. Get thineself aside & find a suitable place to hide up so as not to be found by those sweet buyers who seek to discover just cause NOT to lavish their abundant treasures upon the Masters of this domain. Pray for me one....Pray for me all....that I might associate myself with those that might appreciate & desire this abode.

How did I get here...& why ARE there 2 more kids????

So....have you ever arrived somewhere & then thought to yourself..."How the heck did I get here?"....& then realized...."Boy, that could have been dangerous for all involved. I could have really hurt someone." That happened today!!!!! I decided to walk to pick up the boys from school today. I strapped Slade into the Snugli & proceded to seriously over-dress. (It was waaaay nicer than I thought) When the bell went I wandered into the school to visit with Chayse's teacher, who just came back after Spring Break from a 2 month medical leave. So, after chatting with her for a few minutes we left the classroom. Oddly enough, Haiden had been in Chayse's classroom talking with Mrs. E too, so I didn't have to go looking for him. After straggling behind for about 3/4 of a block the whole way home & holding Brigham's hand, I arrived home to realize that the 2 of the 3 Chinese boys that walked with Haiden & Chayse are standing waiting to be let into my house. The older brother of the boys & their rather dignified grandfather were walking away waving & calling back "I have your number.....See you at 4:30." I was....shocked...stunned....& full blown flabergasted! "How did this happen????" "Wilson wants a snack Mom. Can he have a snack?" "Can we go down to the basement & play wii?"...were the questions that came next. So at 4:10 I get a call from previously mentioned dignified Chinese Grandfather asking to speak to Ryan, the older of the 2 boys. I guess they had just wandered around our complex for 20 minutes or so. The doorbell goes, I paste on a happy face & answer the door, send 2 extra children out the door, close the door & try my best to contain my wrath. It turned out that Chayse had given Wilson, the boy in his class, a piece of paper with my cell phone number on it. Wilson took this as an open invitation & wanted to know where we lived...so Chayse proceded to lead the family to our house without telling me that that was what was happening. I felt completely oblivious & furious!!! The weirdest thing was......after the initial bang on my kitchen ceiling from Wilson announcing "Watch me jump off here." & then actually jumping from Chayse's top bunk, it was strangely calm & quiet with 2 extra boys in the house. Maybe it's because I had strongly suggested (in front of all the boys) that Chayse was more than likely going to be "a dead man" in an hour & they all knew better than to be noisy. By the way, Chayse is still alive......for now!!!

9 to 5.....&....I love you Monty

So I was just on someone's blog (shout out to Susanne) & the song that started playing was "9 to 5" sung by the amazing Dolly Parton. I instinctively started singing it....I just couldn't help myself. I maybe only missed a dozen words. *************************** Anyway....FOLLOW ME THIS WAY NOW....I feel so fortunate to be able to stay home with the 4 blond boys that make me crazy. We have been so blessed that Monty has a job that has afforded us the opportunity for me to be able to do this. 'k...so that wasn't the smoothest transition of ideas, but could you connect the dots? Here...let me do it for you. I don't have to work "9 to 5"...more like 6:50am to 11:30pm with optional sleepless nights. I love you Baby....Wouldn't you say that this is "Far" enough!!!!! (Don't answer that.)

Medicated...

You'll remember a couple of posts ago I mentioned that I have been receiving A LOT of emails for online drug sales. Pfffff...who needs!!!...ME. I just looked at the bottle of "Extra Strength Tylenol Rapid Release" that I always have in the kitchen cubbard. DUDE....there's 186 "Gelcaps" in that thing. There's 500mg of Acetaminophen & a list (in alphabetical order) of 22 "non-medicinal ingredients"; 3 of which are colorings used to make them visually appealing. Frankly, the only thing that makes them appealing now a days is the remote dream that they might actually "provide effective relief of..." whatever ails ya. I could do with some of that mind-numbing that I spoke of.
